Delta community ask Fulani herdsmen to vacate their land

Following the recent attacks carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen, members of Obiaruku community in Ukwani Local Government Area of Delta State, have asked the herdsmen to vacate their land so that their farmers can farm in peace.

According to Vanguard, this development comes after eight members of the community were allegedly held hostage by some suspected Fulani herdsmen on a farm in the community on April 26.

According to the community Youth Leader, Chika Uwabuofu, the decision to ask the herdsmen to vacate their land after the herdsmen failed to honor a meeting where the issue of hostage taken by them could be resolved
“After they (Fulani herdsmen) released our people, the next day, the Delta State Committee on Conflict Resolution, Chairman of Ukwani council, our community leaders, vigilante group members and representatives of the Fulani herdsmen met. At that meeting, we told them that we want Fulani herdsmen to leave our land and we were told to come up with a resolution and another meeting was fixed for Friday. On that day, the Fulani people failed to attend the meeting. As a community, we resolved that Fulani herdsmen carrying out grazing activities on our land must leave so that our farmers can go back to their farms freely without any harassment. We resolved that no cow must go across River Ethiope to graze. Today we sent our vigilante members to the bush to search, but for now, they are no longer there. We are appealing to the state and federal governments to pay compensation to our farmers whose farm produce had been destroyed by the herdsmen. We also thank the state government and our council chairman for all they have done to restore peace to the community.”he said

MAN ATTACKS OREZI PUBLICLY, ACCUSES THE SINGER OF SLEEPING WITH HIS WIFE

The 10th commandment in the Holy Bible frowns against adultery, and even the Holy Quran seriously does with, with the latter prescribing a death penalty for the offence.

However, despite adultery and fornication being a great sin before God, it is so sad that many entertainers continue to indulge in it with impunity.

It’s even common in Nollywood, especially the Yoruba section where many of the young handsome actors are reputed for sleeping with rich married women for financial gains-yes, it’s popular notion among industry folks!

If you are a woman, don't bring your rich husband near most of these actresses, and I mean most. Sex is nothing to them, if a man has got big money to spend!

You’ll be shocked! Even some of the innocent and classy looking ones.

Talking about adultery, singer Orezi also known as Alhaji Orezi was almost beaten up by an unknown man after his show in Surulere, Lagos some days back as an unknown man alleged he slept with his wife.

A man came after the singer and started shouting at him, saying he slept with his wife and raising his hands towards him trying to beat him.

The fierce looking man shouted with a thick voice and dashed towards Orezi to hit him, as he tells him in pidgin English “you think say because you be celeb, you fit dey f**K my wife?”.

The singer probably knew ahead that we was heading to a trouble zone, as unlike him, he had a military escort this time and it took the effort of the military men who accompanied him to the show to douse the pandemonium and saved him from notorious Surulere boys.

The embarrassing moment was captured on video by some fans who were at the corner of the show where the drama took place.

90s SINGING SENSATION, MIKE OKRI RETURNS IN NEW PHOTOS

For those who are familiar with Nigerian music of the 80s/90s,the name Mike Okri will stir up a feeling of nostalgia in them.

Okri who was really popular at the time gave Nigeria and the world evergreen songs such as “Time Na Money”, “Rumba Dance”, “Omoge”, “Hear Your Mama, Hear Your Papa” to name just a few.

For some reasons not clear to the public, the sturdy music impresario sneaked out of the country to reside in the United States of America at the high point of his career, leaving many to wonder what went wrong.

Mike Okri would later reveal in an Interview with Blueprint in 2012 that three pastors saw visions that he should leave Nigeria as a matter of urgency.

But what many may not know is that Mike Okri has returned back to the country. Okri returned about 5 years ago and made a couple of attempt again at music, unfortunately, the Nigerian music field is now dominated by much younger players with a new hit-scoring-formula.

On Thursday, to let his fans know that he still exists, Mike Okri released a set of lovely professional studio photos and the “Omoge”crooner still looks good; one of the photos shows him sporting his signature course necklace.
And while he may be unable to give us new hit songs at the moment, his repertoire of old hits will send goosebumps down your skin way, beyond the ability of the new generation of artistes reigning at the moment.

Was Congo Music Star, Papa Wemba Poisoned?

Congolese music legend and one of Africa’s finest musician, Papa Wemba died at the age of 66 over the weekend after he slumped on stage while performing live during a festival in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He reportedly slumped and died after he had sang his first and second songs and was about to sing the third.

His death suddenly threw the African music world into a state of shock as the musician was believed to be hale and hearty before the performance.

However, if latest information emanating from congo is anything to go by, Papa Wemba might have been poisoned through the microphone he performed with during the show that saw his death.

There’s a video doing rounds on social media suggesting the assassination. The video which shows the before and after events following his collapsing on stage while performing in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire has sparked a lot of reactions from Papa Wemba fans, who believe he did not just collapse. Popular Ivorian entertainer DJ Arafat even claimed that he was sacrificed.

According to a video posted by one Kinshasa-makambo’s on Youtube, an unidentified man is seen taking away the official microphone assigned to the legendary singer and replacing it with another one. Immediately after Papa Wemba started singing, he fell and passed out.

After noticing that the singer had fallen, the gentleman came back, picked the microphone and left as if nothing happened.

Was the microphone laced with a form of inhalable poison? That's the question on the lips of fans who are calling on authority to investigate the matter.

Wonders will never cease! The kind of things we see or hear about are a true indication that the world is soon coming to an end. Why Many Yoruba Actors Go Broke Later In Their Career -Yomi Fash-Lanso

In the Nigerian movie industry, Yomi Fash Lanso is a big name that is always in the frontline whenever the names of who- is-who are mentioned, especially in the Yoruba movie genre of Nollywood. He got into the industry many years ago and he has carved a niche for himself. He is fortunate to be among the stars who have been in the limelight for decades and still leading. The thoroughbred actor has however expressed concerns on why many of his colleagues get broke after their career. The easy going actor also told G why he hasn’t been featuring in most Yoruba movies lately. He made this revelation when MO cornered him at an audition which took place recently at Allen Avenue, Ikeja Lagos. He spoke mostly on the business aspects of acting that most top actors and upcomers are ignoring. Excerpts:

What is new about Yomi Fash Lanso?
To God be the glory, when you have an idea and you don’t create time to pursue it and make it manifest, it will definitely disturb you. So, I had to take time off a little bit from acting so I can really focus on this idea. To God be the glory we had the maiden edition last year 2015, and what I am talking about is Afro-Heritage Broadcaster Entertainment Awards but we coined it as Afro-Heritage. What we try to do is to honor and celebrate Nigerians and Africans as a whole, who have really contributed to the development of the entertainment industry in Africa particularly in Nigeria and showcase them to the world. At the same time to correct the notion that nothing good comes from Africa. Via our little research, what we discovered was that most of our children schooling abroad are being tutored not to believe in their country of origin because nothing good comes out of it, and if you ask this kids about their role models, they will be pointing at foreigners because they don’t allow them to know that back home we have a lot of people who are doing well also in their chosen careers. We are using this platform to project our own heroes and our stars too who have done wonderfully well to promote our culture and values. So, we tagged the idea celebrating legends and icons.
How long have you been having this dream?
For about 4 years now, we deliberated on it and when i eventually met with a big brother of mine, he listened and we discussed about it and he said this idea can really fly and the rest is now history because we are having the second edition come October 20th 2016.
Aside acting and this project, do you have other things you are engaged with?
Of course yes, aside acting I put money in some businesses that fetches me returns now and that is by the way. I have a lot of things doing now. Yomi Fash Lanso is someone who is passionate about his background, where he is coming from and how to project it. Our culture and Language for me is very important. Same thing we did through the Odu’a Progressing Union (OPU) platform which I am their ambassador. It is a social cultural organization and it is not for Nigerians, it is for the people in the diaspora. As I speak, OPU is in about 68 countries now. UK, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Ghana, Gambia, Senegal and many more and we are still moving. Being an ambassador for that kind of large entity shows that whatever you do in life, you have to be consistent, don’t waver, be focused and you will surely get their.
Your new project has stylishly taken you out of the industry, when are we seeing you coming back into it fully?
You are right that I am not featuring in the movies like before because this project requires total concentration because you have to be doing something about it at all time, you have to attend to mails and being the chief coordinator for it, is not an easy task. I need to know who are the foremost actors in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Gambia, Ghana etc, to know this people isn’t easy, you have to be up and doing but I know that very soon I will come back fully because it is my first passion and I won’t let it go off me just like that.
After years of reigning as a star, you hear some cases of top actors living below standard as a result of being broke, what is your take on this?
That is a very good question. There is something all entertainers need to pay attention to, and that is why you need have a good management team so that nobody will take advantage of you, let your management speak on your behalf. Let them strike the deal for you, let them discuss with you on where and how to manage your money, your resources. Do T let family pressures and responsibilities  be on you so much as to forget to plan for the future. If you let it be on you alone because of the emotional attachment we have to our people, our siblings, extended relatives and other family members, it will hit back at you if you are not careful. It will affect you if you don’t have a management. Then, we need to cut our excesses, don’t believe because you are a star you need to live above your income, you need to cross check your earnings and try to live below it.
Can you expatiate more on that?
For instance, when you make like 5 million in a year and your expenses are like 7 million in a year, how do you want to balance it? When you made such money, spend 2 or 3 million in a year and save or invest 2 million that will yield profit later. When I hear people say that this job doesn’t require rivalry, I laugh because I don’t see sense in that. If you can make money from the industry and invest it on something else when you have people that can truly manage that investment for you, why then should you say acting doesn't requires rivalry. Though, we have this wrong impression in Nigeria, everyone wants to make it by all means and if you are not monitoring your investments, they will milk you dry. That is the problem we are having, but for my colleagues, the economy is bad right now but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. We will get there soon. We have a lot of things to sit together to and analyze. When we don’t do this things, there will be problems. We have our problems but we need to come together to analyze the problem and find our way out.
Many artistes in Nigeria don’t believe in setting up a management because they see it as a waste of money, what is your opinion on that?
What is there not to set up when you have somebody that manages you, that goes out to sell your image and brings money for you. Out of #100, they have 10% or 20% depending on what you agreed on. But when you think you can manage yourself, where you are supposed to be paid #100 you will be collecting #50, so who is losing? You are short of #30, because if they manage for you, they will get you #100 and they collect their 20 percent which is #20 and you have #70 left with you, if you will be cheated.
You seem not to be interested in producing movies like your colleagues, why?
It baffles me whenever I hear this and I want to believe that it is you the media that are putting the idea that an actor must produce by all means into our heads. I am not saying that actors shouldn’t produce but there is lot you need to know before going into it. The question you need to ask yourself first is that what is my knowledge about productions? If you don’t understand it then don’t go into it, and that is why we now watch rubbish movies in the country since every Tom, Dick and Harry is now a producer. Someone will join the industry last month and before you know it, he/she is already producing this month. Who mentored you to do so? Is it that easy? If you ask that kind of person, do you have formal trainings from any film institutes, he/she will say no. That is why we are having bad movies now because he/she will hire another inexperienced fellow to direct for him because they are all the same.  Birds of a feather flocks together. You that you don’t have those professionalism skills will hire another fake fellow to hire the camera and the rest to shoot, what do you think will come out of it? I am not saying you shouldn’t invest because I see them as investors, but hire a very good producer to produce for you. You are an investor whom we call an executive producer and that is it.
It is believed that the upcoming get intimidated by the stars, is this true?
Who are the stars? I wouldn’t know what is going on in their minds to say that but in my own little research and understanding, it is the actor’s fault because if I ask you, do you have any formal training and you say no that you are training under one man and I find that this man is out to exploit you, you will still pay for getting trained under me and I see most of them on set.  It is not my fault that you went to the wrong person. I see them acting and I will be like what? I asked a question sometimes back that no one could answer, but if we have one channel that we will all pass through in times of training to be an actor, we will have a balanced knowledge. You understand that as an actor there is no business apart from this.  You should know that these are my don’ts, and these are the respect you give to me. I should be attending audition because it is free, no producer must collect money from me because it is free, I should know that if I get engaged and I discuss my fee, and don’t forget that each and every one of them should have an agent. Prepare yourself from now; try to have an agent that will discuss on your behalf. If it is one naira that you are collecting from a role you play, have it signed on paper and leave, but because most of the people coming into the industry don’t want to go through the normal channel, they are coming through the back door, that is why they are facing all these nonsense we are talking about. There is problem, it is not until you produce that people get to know you. Funke Akindele is a good example of this from my own view. Before she started producing she was already a good actor and she understood the business and there a lot of people like that also in the industry.

"Please don't mind my poor photography.  I just have to share this. This is the height of humiliation I have seen. Poverty is not good. Last night, I was coming from work and saw this man at the traffic around the overhead bridge close to the Lekki Toll gate and adjacent the Oriental Hotel. I saw this man as he suddenly walked Cloe to a man waiting in his posh SUV and waiting for the traffic light. He kneeled down there in the middle of the busy express road and started begging him for money. According to the information at our disposal, the cold war started a few weeks ago when the veteran broadcaster kept promoting another paramount king of music, Abass Akande Obesere’s new songs on his programme which come up by 6am to 10am on Lagos Television (LTV8).
Pasuma, we learnt felt bad as Obesere displaced him in the heart of the broadcaster and in his programme before engaged in what people see as unnecessary malice. As if that wasn’t enough. The acceleration of the war took another gear when the news broke that the Ibadan, Oyo State-born Fuji musician; Obesere acquired a brand new car for the presenter.
Pasuma, we gathered felt remorse and decided to face off with Kabiyesi who has over the years been promoting him. Having gotten this, City People Gbolahan Adetayo did a thorough investigation of the matter as effort made by him to speak with Pasuma proved abortive. Having not rest on his oars, he however spoke with Kabiyesi Owuro Lawa who spoke at length about the cause and the current situation of the brawl.
According to him, “I want to tell you that I can’t keep brawl with Pasuma because he will still remain my son even till tomorrow and I am the chairman of Pasuma fans club globally. What happened is that Obesere gave me the right to be recording his live plays and take the money; this was after he bought me a car, Renault car which I just got the number plate about 3 days ago. Though, I still had him on my programme 2 Fridays ago but as a musician, many will be going round about him. For real, we had face off but I made Pasuma understand that as a journalist cum broadcaster, I can’t limit myself with just only one person. I have an entertainment platform called Kabiyesi Owuro Lawa registered to promote entertainers and I don’t see any wrong in that and Obesere himself never complained about this”.
We further asked him to tell us about misunderstanding that transparent between him and Pasuma, he said “many were insinuating that how would the chairman of Pasuma’s fans club be promoting another Fuji musician, but they have forgotten that I am a journalist and a broadcaster and I shouldn’t limit myself to one artiste. If we look at it very well and we talk about Wasiu, Malaika, Osupa and others, one would say that I am one sided because I roll with every one of them. With my registered name, I want everyone to know that I can promote any musician of my choice. The painful aspect of it was that when the whole issue started, I was unfortunate to set my eyes on Pasuma, I went to his house but his manager, Mathew Ididowo denied me access to see him. I went to his house like 4 times and I didn’t see him, there was a day I was there and I was hearing his voice in the sitting room, Mathew told me that I should go back to LTV that they were coming, I didn’t see them until last 2 Fridays when he came for my programme’s interview and we didn’t really have the time to talk much. On Obesere’s reaction, he didn’t react because he has a plain heart. He said Baba, all I have done for you was done out of what you have done into the entertainment industry especially Fuji music industry. So he didn’t see it as big deal giving me all those privileges. He said he knew I wasn’t in the position I was meant to be, I don’t have a car and he bought one for me. He said he believe I must have seen a lot from the artistes I have been promoting in the last 15 years but nothing to show up for that. He didn’t only give me a car; but with huge amount of money. Before coming here, I was at Osupa’s show at LTV, so, I am not for anybody but everybody. Obesere supports and respects me a lot. There is no artiste that have ever gave me the right to be selling his or her live performances and keep the money for myself, this is third live that I have sold and he didn’t ask me for the money”.

Young boy who presented his drawing of Ciara to her lost his father shortly after meeting Ciara

It has been confirmed that the father of Alesh Akeem, Nigerian student and artist who recently presented a portrait to award winning American singer, Ciara is dead.

Alesh Akeem’s father Mr. Ismail Oriyomi Aleshinloye, was confirmed dead in the early hours of Tuesday 1st of March 2016 after experiencing serious difficulties in breathing.

Akeem who just spoke opened up after coming out of the shock of his father’s death recounted “As of 1:30am on Tuesday, I was reading comments about my presentation to Ciara online, when mum rushed into my room asking me to come see my dad, on seeing him, I saw the worst expression on his face with little tears struggling for breath. He managed to tell us he couldn’t breathe, without wasting time, we rushed him out to the hospital. Four hospitals didn’t attend to us until we took him to the 5th and they confirmed he was dead. I'm so devastated right now. This man has been supporting me with the little he had. I had to pause going for my HND due to financial challenges to take this art dream serious hoping and praying that I can make some decent  living some day and make him proud, but where is he now. My Pillar is gone. Why???””

It was also revealed that on that fateful day of his presentation to Ciara, Hakeem who managed to find his way into  the event premises was bounced several times. His attempt to convince anyone to allow him near Ciara, was met with even harder brick walls but after much persistence, he eventually was able to push his artwork right to the attention of the American singer and took pictures with her which have now gone viral.

What's this world turning into? You chose to sleep with another man's wife, you get caught and he decides to kill you or inflicts a permanent harm on you.  He gets arrested and he his jailed for life or killed in return. The woman is probably alive and well.  People shud just learn to use their senses. Shun immoralities, Shun violence,  and stay safe.
