90s SINGING SENSATION, MIKE OKRI RETURNS IN NEW PHOTOS

For those who are familiar with Nigerian music of the 80s/90s,the name Mike Okri will stir up a feeling of nostalgia in them.

Okri who was really popular at the time gave Nigeria and the world evergreen songs such as “Time Na Money”, “Rumba Dance”, “Omoge”, “Hear Your Mama, Hear Your Papa” to name just a few.

For some reasons not clear to the public, the sturdy music impresario sneaked out of the country to reside in the United States of America at the high point of his career, leaving many to wonder what went wrong.

Mike Okri would later reveal in an Interview with Blueprint in 2012 that three pastors saw visions that he should leave Nigeria as a matter of urgency.

But what many may not know is that Mike Okri has returned back to the country. Okri returned about 5 years ago and made a couple of attempt again at music, unfortunately, the Nigerian music field is now dominated by much younger players with a new hit-scoring-formula.

On Thursday, to let his fans know that he still exists, Mike Okri released a set of lovely professional studio photos and the “Omoge”crooner still looks good; one of the photos shows him sporting his signature course necklace.
And while he may be unable to give us new hit songs at the moment, his repertoire of old hits will send goosebumps down your skin way, beyond the ability of the new generation of artistes reigning at the moment.
